Today, October 24, the Ukrainian women's youth national team WU-19 started their qualification for the 2024 European Championship in the Armenian city of Armavir.

Their first opponents in the mini-tournament were the hosts. This was also the first game at the helm for the acting head coach Nataliya Yagnatovich.

The match started with a battle, but gradually Ukraine's superiority became evident. In the first half, goals were scored by Zaborets, Ptitsyna, and Serbuk.

Shortly after halftime, Borovska increased our team's lead, Novikova could have scored on a penalty in the 67th minute but missed it. However, shortly thereafter Fedorenko put one past Armenia, and Borovska completed her brace. Thus, Yagnatovich's wards secured victory confidently — 6:0.

The Ukrainian women will play their next qualifier against Luxembourg on October 27 (kickoff at 13:00 Kyiv time).

Teams finishing fourth in their groups in League A will continue the season in the second round of League B. The seeding for the second round will depend on which places teams finish in their first-round groups. Based on the results of the second round of League A, seven teams will be determined to join Lithuania in the final stage of Euro-2024.

In League B, 23 teams compete for promotion to League A across six groups. The group winners and runners-up with the best record against third-placed teams in their groups will advance to a higher division. Lithuania also participates despite having an automatic qualification spot as hosts.
