From October 24 to 30 in Armenia, the first round of qualification for the 2024 European Championship (WU-19) will take place, which will include Ukraine's women's youth national team. In addition to the hosts, their opponents in Group 4 of League B will also be North Macedonia and Luxembourg.

In a comment on the official website of the UAF, head coach Nataliya Ignotovich shared her thoughts about how our footballers are approaching the trip to Armenia:

— We gathered in Lviv on October 19 and prepared for three days at the local university of physical culture. It all started with getting acquainted with the players, as I was only recently appointed as the coach of the youth team. Recently, I worked at a club level in neighboring Poland.

— And what impression did the new players make?

— We're ready! Especially since most of them were recommended to me. Unfortunately, just a few days before joint training in Lviv, defender Sofia Lutsan from Donetsk's Shakhtar suffered an injury. She was replaced by Victoria Shevtsova from Kyiv's Dynamo.

— What tactical schemes do you prefer?

— 4-2-3-1, but on the opponent's half of the field it will transform into a 4-3-3.

— Have you already decided on your assistants?

— Yes, these are Volodymyr Levchuk and Oleksandr Dudnyk. The preparation of goalkeepers is handled by Dmitry Shutkov — a former goalkeeper for the national team and Shakhtar Donetsk.

— Do you have any information about your opponents?

— Unfortunately, not much. It's good that we at least have a video recording of one of the last matches involving our first opponent — Armenia. The hosts are quick and energetic, it will be tough to play against them. As for the strengths and weaknesses of the next opponents from Luxembourg and North Macedonia, we'll find out by watching their match in the opening round.

— It's time to ask about the goals in Armenia?

— The mood is fighting. We plan to return home with a win and a ticket to League A of the European Championship.

Teams that finish fourth in their groups in League A will continue the season in the second round of League B. The seeding for the second round will depend on which places teams take in their first-round groups. Seven teams will be determined based on the results of the second round of League A to join Lithuania in the final stage of Euro-2024.

In League B, 23 teams compete for promotion to League A across six groups. Group winners and runners-up with the best record against first and third-placed teams will advance to a higher division. Lithuania also participates in the competition despite having an automatic qualification spot as hosts.
