To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 19, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and third day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense are continuing defensive operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, consolidating at achieved positions.

During the past day, there were nearly 80 combat engagements.

Yesterday, Russian terrorists carried out new missile strikes on civilian objects in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Pavlograd, Obukhivka of Dnipropetrovsk region and Mykolaiv district. Additionally, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with six Shahed-136/131 combat drones during the night of October 19. Forces and means of air defense destroyed three kamikaze drones.

Overall, the enemy carried out 15 missile strikes and 79 aviation attacks, conducted 61 artillery shelling with multiple rocket launchers on our military positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are fatalities and injuries among civilians. A five-story residential building, two churches, a cultural center, a sports complex, over twenty private houses and other civilian infrastructure were damaged or destroyed.

Aviation strikes by Russian occupiers were carried out on Pyskaniv of Kharkiv region; Novoselyskiy, Novolubovka, Biryukovo of Luhansk region; Spirne, Kamianets, Klyschyivka, Kurdyumivka, Dilievka, New York, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Staromajorskoye, Urozhaevoye of Donetsk region; Novodarivka of Zaporizhzhia region; Novobereislav, Kozatsky, Olhyvka, Pridniprovske, Pyskaniv of Kherson region.

Under artillery fire from Russian occupiers were about 130 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping «North», on the Volyn and Polesie directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our forces from moving to threatening directions, increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping «Khortytsia», on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian warriors repelled more than 15 enemy attacks near Sinkyvka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka in Kharkiv region and over ten attacks near Nadiya in Luhansk region.

On the Lyman direction forces of defense repelled five enemy attacks near Makieyevka in Luhansk region.

On the Bakhmut direction the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions near Klyschyivka in Donetsk region. Forces of defense continue offensive actions south of Bakhmut, inflicting casualties on the enemy and consolidating at achieved positions.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping «Tavria», on the Avdiivka direction, the enemy does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka with air support. Our warriors repelled three enemy attacks. Also, unsuccessful were offensive actions by the enemy in the areas of Novokalynovo and Pervomayskoye in Donetsk region.

On the Mariupol direction our defenders repelled 17 enemy attacks near Mariupol and another four — near Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsk direction Ukrainian warriors repelled enemy attacks near Novomajorskoye in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction our defenders are holding off occupiers in the areas of Novodarivka and east of Mala Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping «Odessa», on the Kherson direction, forces of defense continue counter-battery fire, inflicting artillery damage on enemy rear areas.

Forces of defense are conducting offensive operations on the Melitopol direction. They have partial success southwest of Verbovka in Zaporizhzhia region, inflicting casualties and equipment losses to occupiers along the entire front line.

Russian occupiers continue cynically violating international humanitarian law and are settling together with civilian residents in private and multi-story buildings for the purpose of using Ukrainian civilians on occupied territories as a human shield.

Thus, in Tokmak of Zaporizhzhia region Russian terrorists massively settle into multi-story buildings where local residents live.

During the day, aviation of the defense forces carried out 15 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and three — on enemy air defense missile complexes. Also, our defenders destroyed a Russian Su-25 aircraft and five tactical reconnaissance drones.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage to two command posts, an S-300V4 air defense missile complex, a «Zoopark-1M» radar station and eleven artillery systems of the enemy.

Estimated losses of the enemy over the past day totaled approximately: 630 occupiers, 11 tanks, 17 armored combat vehicles, 39 artillery systems, four MLRS, one air defense system, one aircraft, one helicopter, 17 tactical reconnaissance drones, 34 vehicles and three units of special equipment.
