Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 2, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The eighteenth day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense continue to conduct defense on the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, consolidating at achieved lines.

During the past day, 38 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy inflicted 10 rocket and 89 air strikes, carried out 39 artillery attacks on both our military positions and civilian objects of our state. Additionally, on the night of October 1, Russia launched another attack on Ukraine using nearly 30 Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones from southern, southeast, and northern directions. Anti-aircraft defense forces destroyed 16 enemy "Shaheds." As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there were casualties among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure suffered damage.

Furthermore, during the night today, Russian occupiers again attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones. Information about the consequences of this terrorist attack is being clarified at present.

Air strikes were inflicted upon Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast; Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast; Novo, Terny, Spirene, Viymykha, Vesele, Klyshchyvka, Andriyivka, Kostenkivka, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Zolota Niva, Urozhayne, Staromajorskoye in Donetsk Oblast; Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhia Oblast; Berislav, Kozatske, Olhyvka and Vysokye in Kherson Oblast.

Over 150 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson oblasts were subjected to artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polissian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

On the Lysychansk direction forces of defense repelled attacks by the enemy in the vicinity of Makieivka, Luhansk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut direction the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions near Andriyivka, Donetsk Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivka direction, the enemy attempted to restore lost positions in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast but was unsuccessful. Additionally, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by the enemy in the areas of Keramika, Stepovoye, Avdiivka and Pereymayorskaya, Donetsk Oblast. The enemy made 11 unsuccessful attacks in the areas of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, the aggressors unsuccessfully attacked near Staromajorskoye, Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy attempted to restore lost positions in the areas of Novodarivka and Verbovaya, Zaporizhzhia Oblast but was unsuccessful.

Forces of defense continue offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) actions on the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on occupying forces, consolidating at occupied lines and exhausting the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, forces of defense conduct counter-battery fire, destroying supply points and successfully targeting the rear of the enemy.

During the past day, aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 13 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel reserves, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket forces inflicted damage to a surface-to-air missile complex, command post, ammunition depot, and 16 artillery systems of the enemy.

Estimated losses of the enemy during the past day amounted to: 510 occupiers, 15 tanks, nine armored combat vehicles, 48 artillery systems, three MLRS, three air defense systems, 18 tactical drones, 26 vehicles and five units of special equipment.
