To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on September 29, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The eighteenth day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

Russian occupiers continue to ignore international humanitarian law, carrying out attacks not only on Ukrainian positions but also on civilian infrastructure in populated areas, terrorizing peaceful residents. Thus, over the past day, the occupiers attacked Ukraine with 39 Shahed-136/131 strike drones, of which 31 were destroyed by our defenders.

Forces defending Ukraine continue to conduct defense operations on the east and south of Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, and consolidating their positions at the achieved lines.

During the past day, 21 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out 83 air strikes and conducted 63 artillery attacks with multiple rocket launchers both on our military positions and civilian objects of our state. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

Air raids hit Grabove in the Sumy region; Kruglye, Kupyansk, Berestove in the Kharkiv region; Novoselivske in the Luhansk region; Toretsk, Severodonetsk, Spirne, Veseloje, Kostiantynivka, Bila Hora, Avdiivka, Urozhaye, Staromajorskoye in the Donetsk region; Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region; Mykolaivka in the Kherson region.

More than 140 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions were under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volyn and Polesie directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

In the Severnaya and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, and increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Hortytsia" on the Kupyansk and Bakhmut directions, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions. In the Lyman direction, forces defending successfully repelled an attack by the enemy in the vicinity of the village of Belogorivka, Luhansk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiyivsky direction, the enemy attempted to restore lost positions south of Avdiyivka in Donetsk region but was unsuccessful. In addition, our defenders successfully repelled an attack by the enemy near Novomikhailovka in Donetsk region.

In the Mariupol direction the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions around Mariupol in Donetsk region over the past day, making six failed attempts to drive out our units from occupied positions. Our defenders also successfully repelled an attack by the enemy near Novomikhailivka in Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsky direction Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled an attack by the enemy around Urozhaye in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy attempted to restore lost positions near Chervone in Zaporizhzhia region but was unsuccessful.

Forces defending Ukraine continue offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, conducting offensive (assault) actions on the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses on occupation forces in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" in the Kherson direction, forces defending conduct counter-battery battles, destroying supply depots and successfully targeting the rear of the enemy.

During the past day, aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 13 strikes on areas of personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment, one strike against a surface-to-air missile system, and two — against command posts of the enemy. Our defenders also destroyed two tactical reconnaissance drones.

Subunits of rocket forces targeted a surface-to-air missile system, 11 artillery systems, and an ammunition depot of the enemy.

In total, the enemy lost: 340 occupiers, eight tanks, ten armored combat vehicles, thirty-four artillery systems, one MLRS, one air defense system, thirty-four tactical drones, twenty-one vehicles, and units of special equipment.
