Yuri Klymenko's wards in their first match at a prestigious tournament faced the Netherlands team that had conceded to Portugal the day before — 1:4. The Dutch side had no room for retreat, so they put up a tough fight against our players.

In the first period, there were no goals scored. However, the second 12-minute segment saw our teammates start very strongly and on its opening minute they received a penalty which Myrosława Wypasnyak executed cleanly. On the 21st minute, Yuliia Deychta doubled our lead with a beautiful shot. But at the last moment, Ukraine's players relaxed and conceded two goals from set pieces — 2:2.

In the final period, Yuri Klymenko’s wards conceded another penalty goal and sadly lost the match with a score of 2:3, making their task to advance to the semifinals incredibly difficult.
