Kryvyi Rih 'Kryvbass' conceded to Swedish 'Lyngeping' in the match for third place in the first round of the Women's Champions League-2023/2024.

On June 30, the draw for the first round of the Women's Champions League took place in Nyon, Switzerland. For the first time in history, two Ukrainian teams represented Ukraine in these competitions—Poltava 'Vorskla' (successor to 'Zhitlobud-2'), which played in the Champions Path, and Kryvyi Rih 'Kryvbass', which participated in the League Path.

The Kryvyi Rih team found themselves in Group 3, whose matches were held in Swedish Lyngeping. In the semifinals, the red-and-white team conceded to French Paris (0:4), so today they fought for third place against the hosts.

Unfortunately, 'Lyngeping' proved stronger than the Ukrainian team. By the end of the first half, the Swedes scored two goals, and in the second half they secured their lead with another goal—3:0. Thus, 'Kryvbass' conceded in both matches in their debut Champions League campaign and concluded their European Cup participation.

In turn, 'Vorskla' won the Group 2 tournament and advanced to the second round of the Women's Champions League-2023/2024. The draw for this stage will take place on September 15. There, teams will be paired off and play each other home and away. Twelve winners from this stage will advance to the group stage where they will face Barcelona, Lyon, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea.
