Poltava "Vorskla" beat Estonian "Flora" in extra time in the semifinals of the first round of the Women's Champions League-2023/2024.

On June 30, in Nyon, Switzerland, the draw for the first round of the Women's Champions League took place. In the season-2023/2024, Ukraine is represented by two teams in these competitions for the first time in history — Poltava "Vorskla" (successor to "Zhitlubud-2"), which plays in the Champions Path, and Kryvyi Rih "Krivbas," which competes in the League Representatives Path.

By the draw, "Vorskla" ended up in Group 2, whose matches are held in Sarajevo, Bosnia. There, Poltava's team faced Estonian "Flora" in the semifinals.

The first half was dominated by the Ukrainians; Kozlova opened the scoring for them at the 27th minute mark. The Estonians managed to level the score but before halftime, Kotik once again gave "Vorskla" the lead.

Immediately after halftime, "Flora" equalized, and on the 78th minute, they took the lead. Luckily for "Vorskla," Korsun managed to score in the Estonian goal before the end of regular time, sending the match into extra time.

At the start of extra time, Kravchuk scored the fourth goal for Poltava's team, securing their place in the final of the first round — 4:3. Thus, on September 9, Natalka Zinchenko's charges will face Croatian "Osijek" in the final.

It is worth noting that "Krivbas" ended up in Group 3, whose matches are held in Ljungby, Sweden. There, they will play against French "Paris" in the semifinals.
