To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on August 27, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The fifth hundred and fiftieth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our state has begun.

Last night, the Russian Federation carried out another strike with cruise missiles on Ukraine. Cruise missiles were launched from five strategic aviation aircraft from the airspace of RF in the Engels area. Air forces destroyed four cruise missiles X-101/X-55/X-555 in central and northern regions.

During the past day, the enemy carried out five missile and 45 air strikes, conducted 67 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers on our troops' positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Residential buildings, schools, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

Over 40 combat encounters took place during the day.

On the Volynian and Polesian Directions, the operational situation — no significant changes.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky Directions the enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling of more than 25 populated areas. This includes Khrynyvka, Klyusi Chernihiv region; Krugok, Volvino, Basyvka, Turia, Grabovske, Ryasne Sumy region, and Rublene, Ambarne, Bogoliuvka Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk Direction artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy affected populated areas of Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Topoli Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman Direction the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Novoyegeorovka Luhansk region area. Carried out air strikes in the areas of Novoyegeorovka, Tverdokhlibove, Bihorivka Luhansk region and Spire Donetsk region. Artillery shelling by the enemy affected more than 15 populated areas, including Krymna, Kuzmine, Bihorivka Luhansk region and Tor'ske, Spire, Rozdolovka Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut Direction the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of Orilovo-Vasilivka and Klyshchyivka Donetsk region. Carried out air strikes in the areas of Klyshchyivka, White Hill, New York Donetsk region. More than 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Orilovo-Vasilivka, Novomarkove, Stupochki, Andriyivka, Kurdyumivka Donetsk region.

On the Avdiivsky Direction the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Stepovoy Donetsk region area. Artillery shelling affected more than 10 populated areas, including Keramik, Novobakhmutivka, Orlivka, Tonennye, Netaylove Donetsk region.

On the Mariupol Direction defensive forces continue to hold back Russian troops' advance in the area of Mariupol Donetsk region. The enemy carried out an air strike in the Krasnogorivka Donetsk region area. Artillery shelling affected more than 10 populated areas, including Kurakhivka, Oleksandropil, Gostre, Mariupol, Pobeda, Novomikhaylivka Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsky Direction the enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Vuhledar and Staro-Maiorskoye Donetsk region. More than 15 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vuhledar, Water, Shakhterske, Blagodatne, Urozhayne, Rivenpole Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia Direction the enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Orilov and Robotinoye Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 populated areas suffered from artillery shelling by the enemy, including Staroukrayinka, Hulyaypole, Oryoliv, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilyvka, Robotino Zaporizhzhia region.

On the Kherson Direction from artillery shelling by the enemy suffered Olhyvka, Odradokamyanka, Mykolaivka, Kherson, Yantarnoye, Dniprovskoye Kherson region.

At the same time, Ukrainian defensive forces continue to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, consolidate on gained lines, and carry out counter-battery measures.

The aviation of the Defensive Forces carried out two strikes against command points, ten strikes — in areas of personnel concentration and two — against enemy air defense systems during the past day.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery inflicted damage on two air defense systems, one area of personnel concentration, and four artillery means of the enemy on firing positions over the past day.

Estimated losses of the enemy during the past day amounted to: 550 occupiers, six tanks, fifteen armored combat vehicles, twenty-four artillery systems, two MLRS, one air defense system, eleven tactical drones, thirty-one vehicles and four units of special equipment.
