Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and forty-ninth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our state has begun.

During the past day, the enemy carried out two missile strikes and 62 air raids, conducted 89 artillery attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of successful combat operations by air forces, two cruise missiles "Kalibr" and four attack drones Shahed-136/131 were destroyed. Unfortunately, there are fatalities and injuries among civilians due to Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings, schools, and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

Over 40 combat engagements took place during the day.

On the Volynian and Polissian fronts, the operational situation — no significant changes.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts the enemy carried out an air raid in the Udil area of Kharkiv Oblast. Conducted mortar and artillery attacks on more than 25 populated areas, including Lis’kivska, Bogdanove Chernihiv Oblast; Seredyna-Buda, Kucherivka, Hodine, Stebne, Myropilske Sumy Oblast, and Zybinoe, Okhrimivka, Varvarivka, Grachovka, Ambarne Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupiansk front, the enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Kyslivka and Pishchane Kharkiv Oblast. Artillery and mortar attacks by the enemy were suffered by populated areas such as Grynykivske, Synykyvka, Kupyansk, Orlyanske Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman front, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Novoye-Yegorivka and Bilohorivka areas of Luhansk Oblast. Carried out air strikes in the Shyikivka, Chernechyna, Chernyi Stav Kharkiv Oblast, Tverdokhlibove, Makieivka Luhansk Oblast, and Spirnoe, Veseloie, Yampole Donetsk Oblast areas. Artillery attacks by the enemy were suffered by more than 30 populated areas, including Nevske, Bilohorivka Luhansk Oblast, and Svyato-Pokrovske, Zvanivka, Viyimka, Rozdolivka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut front, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Orilovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske and Klyschivka areas of Donetsk Oblast. Over 25 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery attacks, including Kurdyumivka, White Hill, Dilievka, Oleksandr-Shultine, Druzhba Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiyivka front, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Novomaysk Donetsk Oblast. Artillery attacks were suffered by populated areas such as Novokalynove, Stebne, Avdiivka, Severne, Novomayske, Nevelske Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol front, defensive forces continue to hold back Russian troops in the area of Mariinka Donetsk Oblast. The enemy carried out an air strike in the Krasnogorivka Donetsk Oblast area. Artillery attacks were suffered by populated areas such as Krasnyhorvka, Mariinka, Kurakhove, Novomikhaylivka, Konstantinivka, Gostre Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk front, our defenders successfully repelled Russian army attacks in the area of Vuhledar Donetsk Oblast. The enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Vuhledar, Verymivka, Blagodatne, Staromayorskoe, Urozhaynoe Donetsk Oblast. Over 10 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery attacks, including Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Urozhaye, Rivnopil, Blagodatne, Privile, Burlytske Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, the enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Robotino and Novodanilivka Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Over 20 populated areas suffered from artillery attacks by the enemy, including Hulyaypole, Zaliznychnye, Hulyaypilske, Charyvne, Lukiianovske, Plevni Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

On the Kherson front, artillery attacks by the enemy were suffered by Khrechenivka, Olhivka, Mikilske, Kherson, Dniprovskoe, Kizomys Kherson Oblast.

At the same time, Ukrainian defensive forces continue to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol front, consolidate on achieved lines, and carry out counter-battery measures.

Russian occupiers cynically continue to violate international humanitarian law and deploy their military personnel in civilian buildings, using local civilians as human shields. For example, in the populated area of Osypenko Zaporizhzhia Oblast on August 23, up to 1,500 Russian occupation troops of Buryat nationality were observed arriving illegally quartered in civilian homes with local residents and on the territory of a local hospital.

The aviation of defensive forces carried out 12 strikes against areas of personnel concentration and one — against an enemy air defense missile system during the day.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery inflicted damage on one air defense missile system and three artillery systems of the enemy at firing positions over the course of a day.

Estimated losses of the enemy for the past day amounted to: 640 occupiers, 12 tanks, 18 armored combat vehicles, 18 artillery systems, two MLRS, two anti-aircraft missile systems, eleven tactical drones, two cruise missiles, 33 vehicles and two units of special equipment.
