Ukraine is fighting for the deoccupation of Crimea and all other temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories by Russia, and it is not ready to give up any of its lands in exchange for membership in any union. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during a meeting with media representatives at the third international Crimean Platform summit in Kyiv.
"I have a clear position: Crimea is Ukraine. We are fighting for Crimea and all other temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, and we do not trade our territories for membership in any union," — said the Head of State.
He noted that the security and defense forces of Ukraine are conducting a counteroffensive to deoccupy our cities and villages, but this is a difficult task.
According to him, Ukraine has an ongoing need for artillery and long-range weapons, so the help from partners is very important.
"If we talk about long-range weapons — we are working on this. The task falls to diplomats, the head of the Presidential Office, the minister of foreign affairs. I am working on this in different directions. We lobby this in various ways, but we will definitely get results. Just like when we received serious missiles. Now that we use them, it is no longer a secret. It was not easy. Storm Shadow is with us. Similarly, I negotiated with Emmanuel Macron about SCALP missiles. We got our 'scalps,' they are working, the military is very satisfied. Almost 100% hit rate on the enemy," — said Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine also spoke about plans to strengthen security in the Black and Azov Seas.
"Diplomats have been tasked with preparing a security alliance of Black Sea countries — not against NATO, do not think so: this is together with NATO countries as well. So that we have a joint defense of the Black and Azov Sea shores from Russian aggression. I would say more: the Azov, Black, and Baltic regions," — said the Head of State.
