President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about new results in cooperation with partners regarding security guarantees for our country and about another significant package of assistance to protect Ukrainian skies.
"I wish good health, dear Ukrainians!
We have yet another result in working with partners on security guarantees — Greece has joined the declaration of the "Big Seven" regarding guarantees for Ukraine. This is already the 14th country.
In addition to Greece, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden have also joined. I thank each country!
And our team will continue working — for new participants, so that every country and leader interested in peace and security can demonstrate their leadership in one form or another of security cooperation.
Peace has no alternative. Every country that works with us within the framework of security guarantees for Ukraine, within the Peace Formula, sends a signal to the aggressor state. Peace will come. Aggression is losing.
It is very important that every week Russia sees new international activity in support of Ukraine and normal life.
Today I want to especially thank several countries that this week made new steps towards greater security and protection for our people.
Firstly, Germany. Two additional Patriot launchers — this is very significant. Thank you! Thank you, Germany, thank you to the people, thank you to you, Olaf!
Every meaningful strengthening of our air defense system saves thousands of lives and brings us closer to a full aerial shield for Ukraine. Every city and village must be protected. This will become the basis of a pan-European aerial shield. When Russian terror loses in Ukraine — all of Europe wins.
This week, our border guards received mobile medical support complexes from the Netherlands. The Netherlands are generally among leaders in defense cooperation with Ukraine and political interaction. They really protect lives. And the humanitarian aspect is also meaningful. I thank the people of the Netherlands for this! Thank you all! Mark, thank you!
There is readiness from Azerbaijan to provide a new package of humanitarian support, including demining equipment. This too is one of the key areas of our work with partners — demining.
Ukraine needs both technology from partners and, very importantly, creating production bases in Ukraine so that we can clear our land of Russian mines. And this task must be completed not over decades but within years.
Overall, as of now, 174 thousand square kilometers of our country are potentially dangerous due to mines and unexploded ordnance. Every day our specialists discover hundreds of hazardous items. The more demining machines we have, the more special drones for demining, the faster we can restore security. Thank you every country that helps us!
And today I want to especially thank all our experts who are involved in demining. They really work on the ground. They clear fields, territories of populated areas, power transmission lines, infrastructure objects. Yesterday across the country 133 explosive ordnance disposal teams were working. The most — in Kherson, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. Thank you to everyone — every man and woman who is clearing Ukrainian land from traces of Russian terror!
I especially want to highlight a few experts.
This is Anton Volos, sapper of the explosive ordnance disposal unit, Bogdan Olshyvskyi, driver-mechanic-sapper. Both work in the Emergency Rescue Group of Special Purpose DSNS of Luhansk region. Thank you, guys!
Sergiy Syroshchanyk, head of the explosive ordnance disposal team, Main Directorate of DSNS of Ukraine in Kherson region. Thank you, Sergiy!
Police workers: Colonel Valentin Melnyk, Colonel Ihor Pidlisnyi, Colonel Yaroslav Kostiuk. In turn led groups of explosive ordnance disposal — 10-15 teams — in Kharkiv region. From September 22nd to this day — on territory liberated from occupiers. Very actively. Thank you! And very effectively.
Thank you everyone who works for the security of Ukraine and Ukrainians! Thank you all who fight for our country — Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Shakhtarsk direction, Kupiansk, southern directions. Glory to you, warriors! Glory to all who destroy the occupier! Glory to all who support Ukraine, support Ukrainians! Thank you!
Glory to Ukraine!"
