According to the plans, the Ukrainian Women's First League football championship for the 2023/2024 season is set to start at the beginning of September, reports The All-Ukrainian Association of Women's Football.

The new season project in the first league anticipates the participation of 16 teams, which will play in two stages.

Group Stage. The Ukrainian First League championship is held under a round-robin system in two rounds, at home and away, in two groups — A and B.

Final Stage. The top two teams from each of the groups A and B advance to the playoff stage for determining the winners of the First League: semi-finals (A1—B2, B1—A2), followed by a final match and a third-place match.

Based on the results of the Ukrainian First League championship in the 2023/2024 season, the team that secures first place will earn the right to be promoted to play in the Ukrainian Women's Premier League for the 2024/2025 season.

Teams occupying tenth and eleventh places in the higher league, as well as teams securing second and third places in the first league, will compete in playoff matches for the right to participate in the Ukrainian Women's Premier League for the 2024/2025 season. The playoff stage consists of two matches — home and away (10V—3H, 11V—2H).

The base start date for the new championship is September 3, 2023.
