According to the draw results, the debut League of Nations tournament saw Ukraine's women's national team placed in group V3, where they will face Poland, Serbia, and Greece. The blue-and-yellow team continues their preparation for official matches and this time traveled to Portugal for a friendly match against the local national team.

The meeting with a participant of the 2023 World Cup, which starts on July 20 in Australia and New Zealand, took place under the support of the Portuguese Football Federation. The game was held at Porto's Estádio do Bessa Século XXI, the home ground of club "Boavista," with over 20,000 spectators present—setting a record attendance for Portugal's women's national team home matches. Moreover, VAR technology was used during the match—a first experience for both teams.

The start of the match saw initial attacks from both Portuguese and Ukrainian players, but very quickly the home team took control. First, Alvés made a shot on target, then Jessica Silva missed an open goal after Bonдарчук's mistake in their own penalty area. However, at the 19th minute, Jessica did not miss again—after Apanaschenko's error in her own penalty area, she pushed the ball past the goalkeeper.
