The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) announced that the II World Beach Games, scheduled for August 5-12, 2023, in Bali, have been canceled.

According to a statement on the official website of BSWW, this decision was made today after Indonesia refused to host the tournament. The local organizing committee "Bali-2023" has already officially informed ANOC about its refusal to hold the II World Beach Games.

Following this, ANOC issued a statement: "With great regret, we announce that the local organizing committee 'Bali-2023' has officially informed ANOC of its refusal to fulfill its obligations regarding the hosting of the II World Beach Games.

Considering the very late decision by the organizing committee, only a month before the games, it is now impossible to find an alternative organizer, and therefore there is no other choice but to cancel this year's games in Bali.

We know that this will be a great surprise and disappointment, and we sincerely apologize. We are also shocked by the decision of the organizing committee, especially considering that we were in daily contact with it, and the organizing committee never indicated any serious problems that could lead to such an outcome.

As is often the case with any sporting event, issues arose during preparation, but the organizing committee gave ANOC full assurance that solutions would be found and the games would proceed as planned."

In addition, ANOC has promised to fully reimburse the costs incurred by potential participants for travel and accommodation in Bali.

Unfortunately, this decision by the "Bali-2023" organizing committee and ANOC affected both men's and women's teams from Ukraine. Last year, both our teams successfully passed the European qualification for the World Beach Games in Italy and secured their participation in these competitions.
