The wards of Mykola Kostyenko and Oleksandr Kornyiuk started the III European Games in Poland with a victory over Italy (6:5), but lost to Switzerland in their second group stage match (2:4). 

To have a chance at the top spots at these games, the blue-and-yellow team had to win against Moldova today. And they managed to do so with some difficulty. The Ukrainians scored six goals against their opponents, conceding five in return. 

Thus, 6:5 — a victory for the Ukrainian national team, which has now accumulated six points in Group B and secured third place in the tournament table after Switzerland lost to Italy in another match in our quartet.

The Ukrainian national team will continue their fight at the III European Games on Friday, June 30. They will play in the playoff for fifth-eighth place against Azerbaijan (kick-off — 15:30 Kyiv time).
