According to the plans, the start of the 33rd women's top league championship in Ukraine for the 2023/2024 season is scheduled for August 5th this year, reports The All-Ukrainian Association of Women's Football.

Based on the results of the 2022/2023 season, none of the three first league prize-winning teams expressed a desire to move up in class. Instead, the multi-year national champion «Zhitelbud-1» (Kharkiv) is returning to the higher division, securing its place for participation in the new championship.

The season project foresees the participation of 12 teams, which will play in two stages. In the first stage, all teams will play a round-robin tournament according to the draw schedule. The sports performance achieved during the first stage will be preserved.

Based on the results of the first stage and depending on their positions in the league table, two groups of six teams each will be formed, which will conduct another two rounds (home/away) according to the approved schedule.

Group 1: Positions from 1st to 6th — will determine the champion and prize winners of the top league as well as two teams that will participate in the UEFA Women's Champions League-2024/2025.

Group 2: Positions from 7th to 12th — will determine the teams that remain in the top league.

According to the project, at the end of the Ukrainian Women's Top League championship for the 2023/2024 season, the team occupying the 12th position will move down to the first league. Teams occupying the 10th and 11th positions will play two relegation matches (home/away) against teams that occupy third and second places in the first league respectively.
