The draw for the elite round of qualification for the 2024 Futsal World Cup took place today, and according to the results, the Ukraine national team was placed in Group B along with teams from Poland, Serbia, and Belgium.

Head coach of the Ukrainian national team Oleksandr Kosenko shared his thoughts about future opponents with the press service of the Ukraine Futsal Association.

"Currently, any national team with the format that will be used now can earn points against any opponent, even if someone is a favorite on paper and another one is an underdog. This is especially true for home games because, as they say, the walls help at home. Moreover, I have repeatedly said that all national teams are of high caliber and everyone is improving in their skills. Both Serbs, Belgians, and Poles — they all know how to play. Therefore, we need to prepare. I believe that the group is balanced, with all four teams being approximately at the same level."

Polish futsal is developing rapidly now. There are many foreign players in their league, and Polish futsalists are progressing. There are some very good-level players there. This also applies to the Serbian national team. We know that any team from the Balkan Peninsula — is a powerful one. And the Belgian national team — is technical. It's somewhat different in direction, but it's also of high caliber. I think it will be interesting."
