To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on May 31, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred sixty-second day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our state has begun.

The Russian Federation, suffering heavy losses, continues its occupation war. It continues to use terror tactics, attempting to intimidate the population of Ukraine, and carries out strikes not only on military but also civilian targets.

Yesterday, Russia launched another massive aerial strike against Ukrainian territory using Shahed attack drones. Almost all of the drones were destroyed by our defenders. However, there are casualties among civilians, damage to private residential buildings, and other civilian and administrative infrastructure.

Overall, during the past day, the enemy carried out 64 aerial strikes and one missile strike, conducted 88 shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers.

The probability of further missile and aerial strikes across Ukraine remains high.

Russia continues to concentrate its main efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. During the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled 22 enemy attacks.

On the Volynian and Polesian Directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky Directions, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt to infiltrate a reconnaissance group across Ukraine's state border in the vicinity of the village of Zeleno, Kharkiv region. Also carried out an aerial strike near the village of Udi. Conducted mortar and artillery shelling of the villages of Khrynyvka, Karpovichi, Yanzhulivka, Leonivka, Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Fotovizh, Atinskye, Ugroydy, Velyka Pysaryvka, Sumy region.

On the Kupyansk Direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions west of Masutivky, Kharkiv region and towards Novoselivskiy, Luhansk region. Carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Kotlyarivka, Kharkiv region and Stehlomakhivka, Luhansk region. Artillery and mortar shelling affected Kamianka, Novomininskye, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kyslivka, Kotlyarivka, Berestove, Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman Direction, the enemy conducted offensive actions south of Kuzminy, without success. Carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Bihorivka, Luhansk region and Yamopolyvka, Donetsk region. Artillery shelling affected Nevskiy, Bihorivka, Luhansk region and Spirene — Donetsk.

On the Bakhmut Direction, during the past day, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. Carried out an aerial strike near Veseloye and a missile strike in the vicinity of New York, Donetsk region. Civilian areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling: Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bogdanivka, Khromove, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, Pivnichne, Zalizne, and New York, Donetsk region.

On the Avdiyivsky Direction, during the past day, the enemy conducted offensive operations towards Severnyy without success. Carried out aerial strikes near Avdiyivka. Conducted artillery shelling of the villages of Avdiyivka, Orlivka, Pereymayske, Netaylove, Donetsk region.

On the Mariupol Direction, our defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the vicinity of the city of Mariinka as well as towards the villages of Pobeda and Novomikhailivka. At the same time, the enemy carried out an aerial strike within the village of Mariinka, artillery shelling affected Georgiyevka and Pobeda, Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsky Direction, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Vodyanyy, Prechystivki, and Velika Novosilka. Conducted shelling of the villages of Ugledar, Nova Ukrayinka, Prechystivka, Zolotaya Niva, and Shakhtarske.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson Directions, the enemy continues to conduct defensive operations. Carried out an aerial strike in the vicinity of Orikhov, Zaporizhzhya region. Conducted shelling of the villages of Zelenoye Pole, Novopil, Temirivka, Donetsk region; Olgivske, Hulyaypole, Mala Tokmacha, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriyivka and Stepevo, Zaporizhzhya region; Sadove, Komishani, Kizomys, Kherson region, Kherson city, as well as the city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region.

In temporarily occupied Yalta, AR Crimea, Russian occupation authorities illegally seize property from citizens of Ukraine who did not acquire Russian citizenship during the period of occupation of the peninsula. Such properties are being settled by Russian military personnel.

Occupiers continue to impose Russian citizenship on the population in various ways. For example, in Stanytsia Luhanska, employees of one of the budgetary institutions were warned that they will only receive their salaries in June if they re-register at a Russian bank.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 11 strikes against areas where enemy personnel and military equipment are concentrated as well as an attack on its air defense system during the past day.

During the past day, our defenders destroyed 32 Shahed attack drones.

Units of rocket forces and artillery struck three command posts, a concentration area for enemy troops, four artillery units on firing positions, an air defense system, three ammunition depots, and a radio-electronic warfare station.
