National team head coach duties executor Ruslan Rotan and national team defender Oleksandr Svatak — about the match with English 'Brentford B'.

On March 23, Ukraine's national team played a friendly match against Brentford B at Wimbledon FC's arena in London and won with a score of 2-0. The game was part of the preparation for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifier match against England.

"The game is preparatory, I consider it to be very good before our Sunday match. It's important at this time when there are fewer training sessions to play such matches where we can feel confident. The boys played a good game and acted professionally. However, I told them that the Sunday match will be 300% more difficult in terms of stadium atmosphere, England national team motivation, self-sacrifice, one-on-one play, which is what our opponent is known for."

Unfortunately, Sidorchuk got a little sick, so we had to make adjustments. Thus, Boyal'skyi played the full match. We made such changes because Vitaliy missed the last Dynamo game and was fresher, playing two halves. Sidorchuk no longer has a fever, so we expect him to join the group.

Zinchenko got some rest as he is currently very tired. He played 120 minutes in the European League final and another match in the Premier League. He's exhausted and needs good recovery time.

After the friendly against Brentford, we are preparing for an important game for our country. Further training will focus on recovery and tactics where we definitely need to improve.

I am pleased with the boys' motivation and their approach to work. The players approached the friendly as true professionals. They are such, and they must continue to be so," — said Ruslan Rotan.

"It's always pleasant to score, even in a friendly match. Malinovskyi passed very well, and I managed to mark the goal. The understanding with Matviyenko? It was quite good; we tried to play our game."

We will continue preparing for the match against England. About Yarmoluk? Glad to see him again, haven't seen each other in a long time," — said Oleksandr Svatak, one of the goal scorers against Brentford.

As a reminder, the Euro 2024 qualifier match between England and Ukraine will take place on March 26 in London (kick-off at 19:00 Kyiv time).
