President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the first anniversary of the first victorious battles of the full-scale war and the visit to Kyiv by Japan's Prime Minister Kishida.

"I wish good health, dear Ukrainians!

Just spoke with the President of Chile, it was a good conversation. We updated our countries' views on the current international situation.

I informed Mr. President about how Russia continues its aggression. I also informed him about how we can counter Russian terror successfully.

And the best proof of this — is our experience. The experience gained by Ukrainians in driving out Russian occupiers. Thanks to the bravery of our soldiers, thanks to the support of our partners who will never reconcile with Russia's desire to break international law.

Today Ukraine began celebrating the first anniversary of the first victorious battles of the full-scale war — the battles in the north of our country that led to the retreat of the occupiers.

Exactly on March 21 last year, the battle for Motyzhyn ended — a small village in Kyiv Oblast, which became the first big step of our state towards victory in this war.

There were other such steps... The battle for Hostomel. Battles for Irpin. Struggle on Chernihiv and Sumy territories. Battle for Zmiinyi Island. Brutal standoff in Southern Ukraine and unique defensive operation that restored freedom to the Kharkiv region.

We will come to such a result also in other active operations. In heroic battle for Donbas, where inevitably the Ukrainian flag will dominate. In further confrontation in the south, which will restore normal Ukrainian life in Azov region. In returning our Crimea, from where already started migration of the most foresighted rodents of the state-terrorist.

Our confidence in Ukraine's victory, our vision of a free future for our country, Ukrainian heroism that stunned the world — all this was born there... In the cities of heroes of Ukrainian north, east and south.

In the cities of heroes whose character never yielded to the occupier even when he came to their homes.

Together we are returning Ukraine to Ukraine. Together we are defending not only our future but also our dignity, freedom and history.

Today I honored heroes of the Motyzhyn battle — for Kyiv — exactly there where a memorial will be built in honor of our soldiers and ordinary residents of Motyzhyn whose lives were taken by this cruel war.

Today also, our country's guest, Japan's Prime Minister Kishida, began his visit to Ukraine with a visit to Bucha. With honoring the memory of all those whose lives were taken by Russian terror. Mr. Kishida visited the Wall of Remembrance in Kyiv, near St. Michael's Cathedral, honored our soldiers who died for Ukraine.

And it is very important when global leaders show courage visiting Ukraine despite all risks and showing respect — respect to our people who fight not only for their country, for Ukrainian independence, but also so that civilized rules and life remain in the world.

Our talks with Mr. Kishida were quite productive. It is worth noting that this visit takes place when Japan holds the 'Group of Seven' — the 'Great Seven' of democratic countries. So, taking into account Japan's strength, leadership in Asia for peace and international order based on rules, as well as Japan's responsibility as a leader of the 'Group of Seven', our talks today can indeed have global results.

We discussed security issues, political, sanctions, economic, humanitarian. There is readiness from Japan to join our reconstruction — be a leader in these economic and infrastructure processes.

But today I also heard quite specific readiness from Japan to work together with us to mobilize the world even more actively for international order, for protection against aggression, for protection against Russian terror.

Thank you, Japan!

Thank you all who help us defend freedom and liberate our land!

Glory to everyone fighting now! Glory to those fighting for Ukraine under Bakhmut, Avdiivka, near Vuhledar and in all other hot spots of the front line!

I chaired today's General Staff meeting. The main issue — frontline. Our soldiers, our positions, our reinforcement. Commanders reported, chiefs, reconnaissance. One of the issues always maximum attention — is ammunition supply, support from our partners. We expect an increase in exactly what we need right now.

And one more thing. I want to especially highlight today 10th Separate Mountain-Storm Brigade, 54th and 92nd separate mechanized brigades fighting on Donbas. Steadfastly, courageously and effectively. Well done, boys!

Glory to our heroes!

Glory to Ukraine!»
