Inclusive Football Sections in Rivne and Ostroh
The second cycle of classes within the Ukrainian Football Association project "«Inclusive Football Sections»" has concluded in the Rivne region.
The project is being implemented by the Rivne Oblast Football Association in the Rivne and Ostroh territorial communities. Thus, in Rivne, classes are held at the following addresses: Postova Street, 5 (Rivne Oblast DSYS for people with disabilities) and Dubenska Street, 133 (school № 27). In Ostroh, events take place at school № 1 (Vishenky Street, 42).
Inclusive sections are attended by 37 children with special educational needs. The children are extremely pleased with the classes. For example, a student in the 11th grade of Rivne Lyceum № 27, Dmitro A., shared his impressions:
"During training sessions, we receive various light physical loads, learn to play football, and generally spend time happily and beneficially for our health. I am very pleased that I have the opportunity to attend these sections because there is a friendly and warm atmosphere, we get lots of positive emotions and can take a break from the heavy events of today's world. Here I met new friends with whom we train well together and support each other. Here I managed to believe in myself and my strength, open up anew. My physical and psychological self-perception is improving, so I am eagerly looking forward to every new training session."
"I express sincere gratitude to the organizers of our enjoyment. I believe in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and our victory! Glory to Ukraine!"
Through this project within the UEFA Mass Football Charter, the Ukrainian Association of Football aims:
— to improve the psychoemotional and physical state of children through their involvement in physical activities and socialization;
— to change society's attitude towards people with disabilities;
— to provide access to inclusive sports training;
— to reveal the potential of children;
— to unite children and adults, regardless of physical and mental development.
Inclusive football sections, which are open for children with special educational needs, have been opened in 21 communities across Ukraine. Thanks to the UAF, the sections are equipped with children's football uniforms, balls, and necessary sports equipment.
