President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about another meeting of the General Staff and cooperation on Euro-Atlantic and European fronts.
"I wish good health to all Ukrainians!
Today was quite an emotional day. I had the honor of presenting state awards to our soldiers, relatives of our soldiers in honor of Volunteer Day in Ukraine. The mother of Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Matsevych. The father and wife of Hero of Ukraine Taras Bobanych.
To men and women who defend our country, standing up for it at the call of their pure Ukrainian hearts.
Today's decrees honored 363 Ukrainian volunteers, 47 of them posthumously.
Hundreds of thousands of people since February 24 and even from 2014 have become Ukrainian volunteers and are defending Ukraine against Russian aggression. Millions help! They look for everything needed for defense, heal and rehabilitate after injuries, rescue after Russian strikes, work for the sake of Ukraine and Ukrainians. The strength of our defense forces lies in the strength of our people.
And the power of Ukrainians and the country as a whole is based on the fact that Ukrainians become soldiers at decisive moments - they do not give up, but fight, do not look for help from others, but do everything to choose their own path.
We will win this war. We are doing everything for it. Supporting each other. Strengthening the state. Uniting the world in support of our victory, which is truly made up of actions by everyone who fights for Ukraine, who wages war for our country and its brothers-in-arms, who does everything to not give an inch of our land or Ukrainian glory to the enemy.
I want to thank separately for this badge - the "Da Vinci" badge, Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsiubaylo, which Ms. Alina Mykhailova handed over to me today. And for another badge from the boys that was passed during the ceremony. It is an honor for me. Thank you.
I chaired a meeting of the General Staff. Reports by the Chief Commander, intelligence, and commanders of sectors.
Main focus - OSUM "Khortytsia" and Bakhmut. The clear position of the entire General Staff is to strengthen this sector and destroy the occupier as much as possible.
Next, General Tarnavskyi reported on "Tavria" - part of Donetsk sectors, part of southern sectors. General Moskaliov reported on the situation for OSUM "Odessa". General Nayev - about "North".
Of course, we constantly work at the General Staff to ensure ammunition and weapons supply.
We also continue to work with partners to increase pressure on Russia.
Today in Kyiv, Ms. Prime Minister of Iceland visited - a country that politically and humanitarianly supports Ukraine, adding its voice to the global coalition of defenders of Ukraine and freedom.
We discussed cooperation on Euro-Atlantic and European fronts, in international structures. One of the key issues is holding Russia accountable for terrorism and all Russian killers. We are preparing for a summit of heads of state and governments of Council of Europe countries that will take place in Iceland's capital and may have significant implications for bringing Russia to account for its aggression.
Today I spoke with Mr. Murdoch, CEO of Fox Corporation and co-chairman of News Corp - one of the leading media structures in the United States.
A year ago on this day, a group of journalists working for Fox was hit by Russian military shelling near Horinky in Kyiv Oblast. Then Pierre Zakrzewski and Oleksandra Kuvshynova were killed, Benjamin Hall was seriously injured. Over the past year more than ten media workers have been killed or wounded. We value every life and remember each one.
Honoring them, honoring all whose lives or health this war has taken, we are getting closer to ending Russian aggression. Holding a state terrorist accountable. Getting closer to Ukraine's victory with every passing day.
Glory to everyone who is now fighting for our country!
Glory to all who stood up in defense of Ukraine!
Bright memory and eternal honor to all whose lives were taken by Russian shelling and strikes!
Glory to Ukraine!"
