As part of the preparation for the main round of Euro 2023 (U-19), Ukraine's youth national futsal team will play against their Croatian counterparts.

According to a press release from the Ukrainian Futsal Association, head coach Igor Moskvichov has called up 14 players for the upcoming training camp.

On March 15-16 in Prelož, the players of Igor Moskvichov will play two friendly matches against Croatia's national team. These practice games with future Euro hosts will be the final part of their preparation for the main round matches. The first game starts at 6 PM Kyiv time, and the second one is scheduled for 4 PM.

Recall that on November 3 the draw took place for both the preliminary and main rounds of Euro 2023 (U-19) futsal. As a result, Ukraine's youth national team was placed in Group 2 of the main round where they will face Romania, Serbia, and the winner of Group C from the preliminary round, Montenegro. The mini-tournament will take place in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia, on March 22-25.

The host city for the final tournament of Euro 2022/2023 futsal among under-19 teams was announced as Poreč (Croatia). In addition to the hosts, Croatia will also compete with seven other national teams that will be determined after the second qualification round ends on March 26. The format of the final tournament remains unchanged: eight participants will play in two groups of four teams each, and the top two from each group advance to the semifinals.

The inaugural European Championship for under-19 futsal took place in Rijeka in 2019, while the second edition was held in Hain in 2022 — both times (2019, 2022) Spain's team emerged as champions. The second championship had initially been planned for 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ukraine's national team participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's players secured third place in their group, while in 2022 they were eliminated in the semifinals.
