The Ukrainian U-19 futsal team conducted their second friendly match against Hungarian counterparts as part of preparation for the main round of Euro 2023 qualification.

The matches took place in Debrecen at "Phoenix Arena". If in the first match Igor Moskvich's wards won with a score of 5-0, then the second friendly ended in a draw - 3-3. In the lineup of Ukraine's team, Vladyslav Tkachenko scored twice, another goal was credited to Dmytro Skychyk.

According to its results, Ukraine's youth team was drawn into Group 2 of the main round where they will face Romania, Serbia, and the winner of Group V in the preliminary round, which turned out to be Montenegro. The mini-tournament will take place in Serbian city Vrnjačka Banja from March 22-25 here.

The venue for the final tournament of Euro 2022/2023 futsal among under-19 boys was determined to be Poreč (Croatia). In addition to hosts Croatia, seven national teams will participate in the finals from September 3rd to 10th. The format of the final tournament remains the same: eight participants play in two groups of four teams each, with the top two advancing to the semifinals.

The inaugural European Championship among under-19 boys was held in Rijeka in 2019 and the second edition took place in Hain in 2022 - both times (2019, 2022) Spain's team emerged as champions. The second championship was initially planned for 2021 but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ukraine's national team participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards secured third place in their group, while in 2022 they were eliminated in the semifinals here.
