General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: operational information regarding the Russian invasion (as of 06:00 07.01.2023)

Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on January 7, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The three hundred and eighteenth day of the Russian large-scale invasion has begun.

During the past day, the enemy carried out one missile strike and conducted 20 shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers.

The danger of aviation and missile strikes remains across all of Ukraine's territory.

The main efforts of the enemy are focused on attempts to fully seize the administrative borders of the Donetsk region. It is conducting offensive actions along the Bakhmut direction.

During the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of the populated places of Stepanivka, Makеїvka, Dibrova and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region as well as Ozaranyvka, Siversk, Krasna Gora, Podgrodne, Bakhmut, Klіshyivka, Sil, Perevalskiy, Mariinka and Pobeda in Donetsk.

On the Volynian and Polissian directions, there have been no significant changes. Signs of forming offensive groups by the enemy have not been detected.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy shelled areas around populated places such as Strilecha, Bochkove, Komisarove, Krasnoe, Zeleno, Ambarne, Bugruvatka, Gatishe and Otradne in Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, areas around more than 20 populated places were shelled. Among them are Dvorichna, Kupyansk, Kyslivka, Kotlyarivka and Krokhmalne in Kharkiv region as well as Stepanivka, Makeyevka, Ploschanka and Dibrova in Luhansk.

On the Bakhmut direction, areas around more than 20 populated places were affected by fire. Among them are Yakovlivka, Spirene, Beresteve, Bilohorivka, Siversk, Bakhmut and New York in Donetsk region.

On the Avdiyivsky direction, areas such as Avdiyivka, Veselye, Nevelskiy, Krasnogorivka, Kamyanka, Georgiyivka, Mariinka and Novomikhaylivka in Donetsk region were under fire.

On the Novopavlovsky direction, the enemy shelled Vremyvka, Velika Nova Sylka, Vuhledar and Paraskoviyivka in Donetsk.

On the Zaporizhzhya direction, areas around 23 populated places were hit by fire. Among them are Zelenoye Pole and Novopil in Donetsk region; Hulyaypole, Zhovtneve, Charyvne, Shcherbaki and Stepevo in Zaporizhzhya as well as Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region.

On the Kherson direction, the enemy continues to carry out shelling of populated places along the right bank of the river Dnipro. Among them, civilian infrastructure in Chornobayivka, Antonivka, Berislav, Zolotaya Balka and Kherson was hit; there are casualties among civilians.

Russian occupiers continue to exert psychological and physical pressure on the civilian population of temporarily occupied and seized territories. In particular, in the city of Enerhodar in Zaporizhzhya region, Russian occupation forces forced nearly 3000 workers of the Zaporizhzhya AES to obtain so-called Russian passports. By threatening businesses with fines and confiscation of property, they have removed Ukrainian hryvnia from circulation in the city. The number of occupied residential premises has significantly increased, which were abandoned by forcibly displaced residents.

Due to non-fulfillment of the recruitment plan for territorial defense forces in Belgorod region, local police were involved in the recruitment campaign. Officers are visiting apartments and houses, conducting a census of male population of conscription age and holding discussions on popularizing military service.

Ukrainian aviation carried out one strike against an area where occupiers were concentrated during the past day, while our units of rocket forces and artillery inflicted fire strikes on four areas where enemy troops and military equipment were concentrated as well as two of his ammunition depots.

Believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Together we will win! Glory to Ukraine!
