In 2022, the national women's team of Ukraine played seven matches, winning five and losing two (the difference in goals scored and conceded was 10-9).

The blue-and-yellow team began the year with winter training sessions in Turkey as part of their preparation for World Cup qualification matches. In Alanya, under Luis Cortes' guidance, they played three friendly games against Venezuela, Uzbekistan, and Bulgaria, and also won the Turkish Women's Cup 2022.

Following Russia's full-scale invasion, many players of our national team were forced to join foreign clubs but did not forget about supporting Ukraine, organizing events and providing humanitarian aid. Luis Cortes, the head coach, also remained involved.

In April, home matches for the blue-and-yellow team against Scotland and Hungary were scheduled in World Cup qualification. Due to Russian aggression and martial law in Ukraine, these games were rescheduled to June and took place in Ryashiv, Poland. Unfortunately, a loss to Scotland put an end to Ukraine's hopes of advancing to the world stage. However, the following victory over Hungary added optimism.

The final qualification matches for the 2023 World Cup were played by our girls in September — they defeated the Faroe Islands in Tórshavn and lost to Spain in Madrid. After this, the women's national team of Ukraine took a long break and is now preparing for the newly formed League of Nations.
