Note for attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 08.12.2022 regarding the Russian invasion into our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred eighty-eighth day of Russia's large-scale invasion has begun.

Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled attacks by Russian occupiers in the areas of the populated places Terneva in Kharkiv Oblast; Stelmakhivka, Ploschanka, Chervonopopivka and Bihorivka in Luhansk region, as well as Bihorivka, Berestove, Yakovlivka, Bahmutskie, Bahmut, Opitne, Kurdyumivka, Mayor'sk, Mariinka and Novomikhailivka in Donetsk Oblast.

Over the past day, the enemy carried out seven missile strikes and 16 air raids, conducted over 40 artillery shelling with multiple rocket launchers.

The threat of Russian missile strikes on objects of the energy system and critical infrastructure across the entire territory of Ukraine remains and persists.

On the Volynian and Polesian Directions the situation has not changed significantly, no signs of forming offensive groupings by the enemy have been detected.

On the Northern Direction the enemy carried out artillery and mortar shelling of populated places Khrynyvka and Hremyach in Chernihiv Oblast and Novovasylivka, Ulica, Chernaetske and Seredina Buda in Sumy region.

On the Slobozhansky Direction areas of populated places Udi, Veterinarnoe, Starytsia, Ogirceve, Vovchanskie Khutori, Ambarne, Bologivka, Dvorichna and Kamianka in Kharkiv Oblast were shelled with tanks and artillery.

On the Kupyansky Direction the enemy is defending. Areas of populated places Kupiansk, Synikivka, Kislivka, Kotliarivka, Tabayivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove and Pershotravneve in Kharkiv Oblast as well as Stelmakhivka and Andriyivka on Luhansk territory were shelled.

On the Lyman Direction enemy fire strikes were recorded in areas of Grigorievka, Makieievka and Ploschanka in Luhansk Oblast as well as Terni, Dibrovi and Hryhorivka on Donetsk territory.

On the Bakhmutsky and Avdiyivsky Directions the enemy does not give up attempts to go into an offensive. Areas of populated places Verkhnyokamiansk, Spirene, Bihorivka, Solvedar, Bahmutskie, Bahmut, Klyshchevka, Kurdyumivka, Druzhba, Zalizne, Pereymayske, Nevelske, Krasnogorivka, Mariinka and Novomikhailivka in Donetsk Oblast were shelled with tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery.

On the Novopavlivsky and Zaporizhzhia Directions the enemy is defending. Artillery and mortar strikes on areas of Vuhledar, Bogoyavlenska, Prechistivka and Goldo Niva in Donetsk Oblast were carried out.

On the Kherson Direction the enemy carries out defensive actions, strengthens military groupings. Artillery strikes on more than 15 populated places near the line of contact have been recorded. Among them — Zolota Balka, Kachkarivka, Lvov, Tokaryvka, Inzhenerne, Antonivka and Dniprovsk in Kherson Oblast. Also, the island Bihorudiy and cities Kherson and Mykolaiv came under fire.

According to available information, during transportation of one of the units of occupying forces from temporarily occupied city Yasynuvata Donetsk Oblast, about 20 people with weapons escaped from among previously detained individuals. As a result of search operations, three escapees were destroyed. Actions are ongoing. They say, beat your own so that others fear.

On the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, in order to replenish current losses, Russian occupiers plan to mobilize local residents. In particular, in Melitopol city of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, notices have been issued to men of conscription age with a requirement to report to the military recruitment office as soon as possible.

The aviation of the Defense Forces over the past day delivered 17 strikes on areas of personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment, as well as two strikes on positions of enemy air defense missile complexes.

At the same time, our soldiers shot down an attack UAV of Shahed-136 type and a reconnaissance drone "Orlan".

Units of rocket forces and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine over the past day hit six command points, five areas of personnel concentration, an artillery position and two ammunition depots of the enemy.
