President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, announcing the launch of our new humanitarian initiative Grain from Ukraine and the release of 12 more Ukrainians from Russian captivity.

"Unbreakable people of an unbreakable country!

Today we held the first International Food Security Summit. We organized it in Kyiv together with our partners. And deliberately — on these days when we honor the memory of the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933.

Ukrainians have gone through genocide. And today, we are doing everything possible and impossible to stop Russia's new genocidal policy. New, but so similar to the one that killed millions of people in the 20th century. And we are not just defending ourselves from aggression. We are step by step creating a system that will prevent aggression, dismantle its consequences, and ensure long-term security — for Ukraine, all of Europe, and the world.

Food security is one of the key elements of global stability. This is where Ukraine's leadership role is most evident. Thanks to our export grain initiative from three Black Sea ports, we have sent nearly 12 million tons of food onto the world market. To 40 countries around the globe. And out of this volume, more than 2.5 million tons — to countries where people are not just facing a shortage of food but are in dire crisis.

Within the UN Food Program, we have helped countries where people literally starve or are on the brink of starvation. This includes Ethiopia and Yemen. We also assisted Somalia and Afghanistan. And this is only the beginning.

Today, we officially announced the launch of our new initiative — humanitarian. Grain from Ukraine. And we already have agreements with many partners to work together on "Grain from Ukraine."

The European Union, USA, France, Britain, Germany, Japan, Qatar, Canada, Norway, Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Slovenia, Switzerland and others. Over 20 countries supported our Food Security Summit. The total amount we have accumulated for Grain from Ukraine is already close to $150 million. Work continues. We are preparing up to 60 ships.

We are not just sending Ukrainian agricultural products to the countries that suffer most from food crises. We are confirming that hunger should never again be used as a weapon. Without Ukrainian food, without our leadership together with partners, social stability in regions such as North Africa or the Middle East could not have been maintained. This is exactly what Russia wanted. We have it — and we can! — to prevent this.

Today I met with the Prime Minister of Belgium. We discussed our joint actions. Not only for food security but also beyond that. Signed a declaration on Belgium's support for full membership of Ukraine in both the European Union and NATO. This is an important signal. Discussed further political and defense cooperation, sanctions against Russia, and possibilities for Belgium to help us through this winter.

Today in Kyiv there was a meeting of the Lublin Triangle at the level of prime ministers — Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania. Signed a joint statement on further support for Ukraine and international order. So today — a very busy diplomatic day. A day that strengthened both Ukraine and our partners.

Tonight our energy workers continued to restore the system. And we already have more opportunities to generate and supply electricity. But, unfortunately, it is still not enough to make supplies fully stable.

As of this morning, twice as many customers were disconnected from electricity compared to yesterday evening. However, in 14 regions and Kyiv, there are still restrictions for more than 100 thousand customers in each region.

If consumption increases tonight, the number of disconnections may increase again. This once again shows how important it is now to conserve energy and use it rationally.

Today during the day, the enemy inflicted a rocket attack on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast — targeting private property, ordinary homes. There are casualties. They shelled Donetsk Oblast, southern regions, and other areas.

Russia and this day of remembrance turned into a day of terror. The occupiers will definitely be held accountable for all of this. And we will drive them out of our land.

And one more thing.

Today, we managed to release 12 more Ukrainians from Russian captivity. Among them are three civilians, two officers, and seven enlisted soldiers and sergeants. Just this week, we have returned 98 of our people from captivity. We will return all others.
