Today, on November 17, the Ukrainian U-19 national team (players born in 2004 or later) started their campaign in the Euro-2023 qualification with a match against Kosovo. Their first group 3 game was played in Norrköping, Sweden (at the "Östgötaporten" stadium).

In the first half, our boys had the upper hand but mostly missed the target, and the goalkeeper of the Balkan team managed to save Fedor's shot. After halftime, Yarmoluk and Pushkarov marked with shots on goal — Shala played confidently. The Kosovars tried their best to hold for a draw, even making a tactical substitution in the 90+4 minute, but in the final seconds, Ukrainian player Egor Yarmoluk of English Brentford FC scored after receiving a pass from his teammate Volodymyr Khara-barra of German Nuremberg FC, who came on as a substitute. The score was 1:0.

The next match will be held on November 20 against Cyprus.

As a reminder, the top two teams from each group and the best third-placed team (based on results against the first and second-placed teams) will join Portugal in the elite round of qualification in spring 2023. The Maltese national team has secured automatic qualification to the final stage as hosts of the tournament. Seven group winners from the elite round will also qualify.
