Today, on November 17, the Ukrainian U-19 national team (players born in or after 2004) will start their qualification campaign for Euro 2023 with a match against Kosovo.

In the Euro 2023 (U-19) qualifying round, the blue-and-yellow team has been placed in Group 3, where they will play against Kosovo, Cyprus, and Sweden. The mini-tournament will take place from November 17 to 23 in Swedish cities Norrköping (Ostgotalunden stadium) and Linköping (Linköping Arena).

Overall, the top two teams from each qualifying group and the best third-placed team (based on results against the first and second-place teams in their group) will join Portugal for the elite round in spring 2023. Malta's national team has secured a direct spot to the final stage as hosts of the tournament. Seven group winners from the elite round will also qualify.

"We only have one game against Kosovo from last year, but we'll approach this situation by starting with them and studying Cyprus and Sweden during the matches. On the other hand, our opponents face a big challenge in trying to figure us out (smiling). We are going into the qualifying tournament as dark horses."

"Despite all circumstances, our goal is first place in our group. And we'll see how it goes; football often has unpredictable outcomes,"—said head coach of Ukraine's team Serhiy Nagornyak the day before.
