Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on November 8, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and fifty-eighth day of heroic resistance of the Ukrainian nation against the Russian large-scale invasion has begun.

The enemy is trying to hold temporarily occupied territories, concentrating efforts on restraining the actions of Defense Forces on certain fronts. It conducts offensive operations on the Bakhmutsky, Avdiivsky, and Novopavlovsky axes.

Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of the populated places of Krasnogorivka, Bakhmut, Yanyhigrad, Opitne, Klyshchyovka, Mariinka, Pavlivka, Vodyane and Mayor'sk Donetsk Oblast and Bilohoryvka on Luhansk.

The enemy is conducting shelling of Defense Forces units along the line of contact, carrying out fortification construction at certain fronts, and conducting aerial reconnaissance.

Continues to inflict strikes on critical infrastructure and civilian housing, violating international humanitarian law, laws, and customs of war.

Over the past day, the enemy inflicted nine missile and 37 air strikes, carried out more than 100 shelling with multiple rocket launchers.

The areas of over 25 populated places in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions suffered from the enemy's strikes.

On the Volynsky and Polesky axes, there are no significant changes in the situation. The Republic of Belarus continues to support the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, providing Russia with infrastructure, territory, and airspace. A formation of a Russian-Belarusian military grouping on the territory of the Republic of Belarus is ongoing. There remains a threat of enemy air strikes using combat drones from the territory and airspace of this country.

On other axes, the enemy conducted shelling:

on the Slobozhansky axis — with tanks, mortars, rocket and field artillery in the areas of populated places Udi, Staritsya, Chugunivka, Figolivka and Dvorichanske;

on the Kupyansk and Lyman axes — with various types of artillery in the areas of populated places Kyslivka, Berestove, Stelmakhivka, Myasozharka, Grekivka, Makieyevka, Nevsko, Yamolivka and Lyman;

on the Bakhmutsky axis — with tanks, mortars, field and rocket artillery in the areas of populated places Rozdolvka, Yakovlivka, Solvedar, Bakhmutse, Bakhmut, Opitne, Klyshchyivka, Andriyivka, Kurdyumivka, Ozaryanivka and Mayor'sk;

on the Avdiivsky axis — with tanks and all types of artillery in the areas of populated places Avdiivka, Opitne, Vodyane, Novomayske, Nevelske, Krasnogorivka, Mariinka and Novomykhailivka;

on the Novopavlovsky axis — with tanks, mortars, field and rocket artillery in the areas of populated places Vuhledar, Pavlivka, Prechystyvka, Vremyivka, Novosylka, Neskuchne and Novopyl;

on the Zaporizhzhia axis — with various caliber artillery in the areas of populated places Temriuvka, Olhyvskye, Uspenivka, Hulyaypole, Zaliznychno, Charivne, Novodanylivka and Stepevo.

On the Southern Bug axis, enemy fire affected areas of populated places that border with the line of contact. Directly from rocket artillery fire suffered populated places Vishchy Tarasivka, Illinka and Mariupol Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. Confirmed firing damage to the area of concentration of military equipment, which is about 20 units, on November 5 in the city of Hola Prystan Kherson Oblast. Also confirmed destruction of ammunition depots of occupiers on November 5-6 in populated places Gorlivka Donetsk Oblast and Svatove on Luhansk.

In the city of Enerhodar, Russian invaders continue to strengthen administrative and counterintelligence measures. Occupants are collecting personal data of local residents, checking smartphones, searching private homes, illegally detaining citizens of Ukraine.

Near the populated place Novosofiivka Kherson Oblast, a unit of occupation troops from Chechen Republic has been reinforced and is participating in looting local residents and their housing.

The aviation of Defense Forces inflicted 24 strikes on the enemy over the past day. The affected areas included 17 locations of personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment, as well as seven positions of anti-aircraft defense systems of the enemy.

Over the past day, Defense Forces units downed an enemy Su-25 aircraft, a BPLA "Lancet-3" drone, and four "Orlan-10" drones on various axes.

Rocket forces and artillery troops over the past day inflicted damage to five command points, two areas of concentration of live forces, weapons and military equipment, two ammunition depots, two anti-aircraft missile systems and an area of artillery firing positions of occupiers.
