Today, on October 24, the Ukraine U-17 national team (players born in 2006 or later) will start their qualification for Euro-2023 with a match against Azerbaijan.
The Ukraine U-17 national team has been placed in Group 2, where they will face teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azerbaijan, and Liechtenstein. The mini-tournament will take place from October 24 to 30 in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the "Mladost" stadium in Kakanj and at a training center of the local football federation in Zenica.
The team began their training camp on October 15, and on the 19th they won a friendly match against Lviv U-19 by 5:0 (Kalyn, 27; Tsukanov, 58; Kovalev, 65; Lobko, 72; Osypenko, 88) at the FC "Rukh" base. On October 21, the team traveled directly to Bosnia and Herzegovina for the tournament.
" We have materials from matches of Azerbaijan, Liechtenstein, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. We have enough information about our opponents and are keeping everything under control. Now it is important to properly reveal the strong and weak sides of the opponents to the boys so that the team understands what awaits them at this tournament." — noted head coach of the Ukraine U-17 national team, Yuriy Moroz.
