Today, on October 19, the women's national handball team of Ukraine will start their journey in the main round of qualification for Euro-2023, where they will face Poland, Croatia and the winner of group A from the previous round, which were the Netherlands. They will also play against them in their opening match. It should be noted that Ukraine was initially supposed to host the mini-tournament, but due to Russian aggression, UEFA moved the matches of the quartet to Poland.
The training camp for the women's national handball team of Ukraine ahead of the group 2 main round qualification matches for Euro-2023 began on October 12 in the Polish city of Miedzyzdroje.
"The team worked in a two-session mode. Already from the first training session, I noticed positive moments because I saw that the girls arrived in playing form. We have gathered around this time before, and I can say that previously there was a feeling of lack of playing form among the handball players. Now they are performing in their clubs, gaining important experience in Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian championships. This is undoubtedly a positive moment. The opponents in our group are equal, so I believe that everything depends on us," — head coach of the blue-and-yellow team Oleg Shaytanov noted ahead of time. By the way, one of his assistants recently became Julia Titova, who plays for Italian "Italcave Real Stato."
