Note for your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on October 10, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and twenty-ninth day of heroic resistance of the Ukrainian nation against the Russian large-scale invasion has begun.

The enemy is trying to hold temporarily occupied territories, concentrates efforts on attempts to disrupt counter-offensive actions of the Defense Forces at certain sectors, continues offensive operations on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka axes.

The adversary shelled positions of our troops along the line of contact, carries out engineering equipment of defensive positions and sectors at certain sectors, and conducts aerial reconnaissance.

Violating norms of international humanitarian law, laws and customs of war, strikes critical infrastructure and residential areas.

There remains a threat of air and missile strikes across the territory of Ukraine. Thus, during the past day, occupiers delivered 10 missile and 19 aerial strikes, carried out over 90 shelling with multiple rocket launchers.

As a result, critical infrastructure and civilian residents were affected in more than 30 populated areas. Among them — Zaporizhzhia, Siversk, Novobakhmutivka, Severodonetsk, Biryukove, Nikopol, and Blagodatovka.

For strikes on Zaporizhzhia the enemy used seven air defense guided missiles. Once again critical infrastructure of the city and civilian residents' housing were affected.

On the Volyn and Polesie axes situation remains unchanged.

At other sectors, enemy carried out shelling:

on the Severodoneck axis — with mortars and artillery in areas of populated places Popivka, Starikove, Vorovba, Yanzhulivka, and Myropillya;

on the Slobozhanskyi axis — with mortars, artillery and multiple rocket launchers in areas of populated places Chervona Zoriya, Veterinarnoe, Strylecha, Maliy Prohody, Vovchansk, Kamianka, Dvorichna, and Hrynykivka;

on the Kramatorskyi axis — with tanks, mortars, artillery along the entire line of contact, particularly in areas of populated places Pershotravneve, Severodonetsk, Makieyevka, Novoyegorivka, Steylmakhivka, Terne, Torske and Zarichne. Also in the area of the populated place Svatove, the enemy blew up railway and automobile bridge crossings;

on the Bakhmut axis — with tanks, mortars, artillery along the entire line of contact, particularly in areas of populated places Rozdolvka, Serbyanka, Biryukove, Verkhnyokamianske, Zaytseve, Krasna Gora, Solodar. In addition, occupiers replaced localities near Berestovo.

On the Avdiivka axis — with tanks, mortars, artillery shelled areas of populated places Avdiivka, Kamianka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Pisky, Krasnogorivka and Mariinka.

On the Novopavlivskyi and Zaporizhzhia axes over 20 populated places were affected by artillery fire. Among them — Vuhledar, Novopol, Shakhtarske, Maliy Shcherbaki, Velika Novosilka, Malynivka, and Mala Tokmachka.

On the South Buzhsky axis enemy shelling was recorded in areas of over 25 populated places along the entire line of contact. Near Dudchany, the enemy hit a strike UAV. Overall on the axis occupiers carried out up to 30 sorties of UAVs with the aim of conducting aerial reconnaissance.

A critical situation is developing in the 127th Rifle Regiment of so-called First Army Corps. The hastily formed regiment by decision of the commander of the 49th army was immediately transferred to the first line of combat engagement in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. Relatives of mobilized servicemen prepared appeals to law enforcement bodies of the Russian Federation regarding significant losses and inactivity of military command. Units are experiencing long-term shortages of water and food supplies. Servicemen, at best, are equipped with old-pattern protective gear which leads to numerous casualties.

During the past day subunits of the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in areas of populated places Ozaryanivka, Kamianka, Pervomaiske and Nevelsk.

Ukrainian Air Force carried out 24 strikes during the past day. Confirmed damage to 20 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment as well as four air defense missile systems of the enemy. In addition, Ukrainian subunits of anti-aircraft defense shot down one Su-25 aircraft, three UAVs and three guided aerial missiles Kh-59 over the previous day.
