The Ukrainian U-17 national team has concluded its first training camp of the year. The official website of the UAFA asked head coach Yuriy Moroz to summarize the work done.
— Mr. Yuriy Leonidovich, how would you evaluate your work in this new position?
— Everything went smoothly. The team completed everything that was planned — both in the training process and regarding theory. We played two friendly matches and got to know the boys better. We talked about the requirements for national team players.
— What did you like most during your team's sparring games against "Oleksandriya" (0:4) and "Kolos" U-19 (3:1)?
— I haven't seen some of the players practically, as not everyone has game practice. Again, we were getting to know each other and observing how they react during matches. So these sparring games were very useful — especially the first one, since our opponents were an experienced team. There is a lot of information, and most of it is positive. The boys are absorbing it and want to progress. God willing, may this continue.

— You invited 28 players to the camp, but will selection continue before the Euro qualifiers?
— First of all, I would like to thank the clubs that managed to keep these players at this age during such a difficult time. Selection will certainly continue. There are many players who have fallen out of our football's radar for understandable reasons. But we are working so that some of those who went abroad return and play for the national team.
— When will the camp start before official matches?
— We have very little time. We plan to gather on October 14th. The pre-camp will be in Lviv. There are plans for a friendly match, but we need to wait for an official decision on all these matters.
