Defender of English "Everton" Vitalii Mykolenko played the entire match and then shared his thoughts about the encounter.

"The first minutes of the match were very difficult for us, but we managed to overcome them, and the result is on the scoreboard. The most important thing was the first goal scored, and I am really happy for Sasha Timchik. Our task before us was to close down the back line, he ended up there and directed the ball into the net. I am glad for him — a goal plus an assist. In my opinion, today he worked at 120 percent.

After halftime it was important to score again to calm the game down a bit. But as a defender, the most important thing for me is when you win — 1:0, to play solidly in defense. I believe that we played well defensively and even if we hadn't scored more goals, we probably wouldn't have conceded any. A 1:0 scoreline also gives three points. Today on the field I left a lot of energy, but for the national team there's no other way. I don't feel as perfect as I would like to, but overall I'm doing well.

Today we will have a flight to Krakow where we will undergo recovery procedures and start preparing for the match against Scotland," — said Vitalii Mykolenko.
