Last night, ahead of the 2022/2023 Nations League match against Scotland, Ukraine's national team conducted a training session at Hampden Park stadium. The preparation for today’s game was commented on by Ukrainian defender Vitaliy Mykolenko of English Everton.

"I probably won't be able to help the boys tomorrow, as I'm not participating in training right now and am not preparing for the match either. I felt discomfort during my last game in the Premier League, and today the doctors examined me and said that everything is more or less fine but I need to wait a bit longer. If the coaches decide to call me up, I will be ready for future matches.

Right now we have many injured players, Zabarnyi is suspended, and Viktor Kovalenko got hurt yesterday as well. However, the coaching staff has 24 players at their disposal, so there are two or three good candidates for each position. Therefore, I believe that replacing Zinchenko, Bushchan, or Shaparenko won't be a big problem. We're all one family, one team, so we should be able to handle the challenges.

Since almost four months have passed since our match in June, I don't think Scotland's national team has undergone significant changes. Perhaps their players have gained more game practice. I know that Andrew Robertson won't be there, but honestly, I'm not following all the opponents' players closely. However, I will note that my teammate at Everton, Nathan Patterson, is in excellent form. Before joining the squad when I was injured, he passed me the ball. Patterson said it's a tactic before our game. We joked around a bit—we're both in good spirits.

Tomorrow there will be a tough match, but there’s also Wales to deal with on the road as well. After traveling and then just three days after the Scotland game. But I'll repeat once again—there are 24 players available, and all of them will be ready at one hundred percent,"—Vitaliy Mykolenko said.

We remind you that the Nations League match between Scotland and Ukraine will take place today in Glasgow at Hampden Park (kickoff—21:45).
