President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the importance of the pace of stabilization in liberated areas and his conversation with UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin.
"I wish you good health, dear Ukrainians!
Today I held a new meeting of the General Headquarters — we convene every time when there are significant news from the front lines.
Kharkiv region — stabilizing the situation, holding positions firmly. So firmly that the occupiers are visibly panicking. Well, as we warned — for Russian troops in Ukraine there are only two options: retreat or capture. For collaborators, the options are similar — either they will try to flee and it is unknown whether Russia will let them onto its territory even if they have obtained a passport, or collaborators will be sentenced according to Ukrainian law.
By the way, I would like to thank the National Police for quickly restoring order on recently liberated territories. And the Security Service of Ukraine — for now working noticeably effectively. I cannot reveal all the details, but thanks to SBU we are confident that there will be no resistance from occupiers on Ukrainian soil.
Very important: at the Headquarters meeting, we discussed the situation at the state border and the protection of our border. The head of the State Border Guard Service reported. The state will ensure all necessary power for protecting our border.
We heard from the Chief Commander and commanders of operational directions.
We are very carefully providing support to our soldiers before winter.
Today I would like to thank the soldiers of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade, who show steadfastness in defense on Donbass, and the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade — for their extremely brave actions in liberating our territory. The 59th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade — also great job! In those conditions where you are fighting, boys, an unstoppable advance forward is true heroism! The 57th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade — thank you for your strength, boys! Thank you for advancing!
Now this is very important — the pace. The pace of stabilization in liberated areas. The pace of our troops' movement. The pace of restoring normal life on liberated territory. And the pace of supporting partners. We talk about it honestly — the pace of aid to Ukraine must match the pace of our advance. This was also discussed at the Headquarters today.
Today I spoke with Aleksander Čeferin. Thank you for supporting our athletes, for your unwavering principles. I thanked the UEFA President for his support in relaunching Ukraine's Premier League. We discussed the possibilities of UEFA helping to free our military prisoners-of-war and publicly supporting them.
These days in London there was a ceremony bidding farewell to Queen Elizabeth II. Ukraine honored her memory at a high level — the Prime Minister of Ukraine and First Lady were present. Among millions of people who came to bid farewell to Her Majesty, there were also many Ukrainians. I thank all Ukrainians in the United Kingdom who showed our British friends during this sad moment that Ukraine is with them.
Tomorrow will be a very important day — we are preparing for an address at the UN General Assembly. There will be significant signals from our country.
I will also participate in a summit on food security — this is a crucial element of global security, and Ukraine has much to say.
There will also be online meetings with American partners and investors. We are doing everything to meet the needs of Ukraine at all levels: defense, finance, economy, diplomacy.
Thank you to everyone who is helping our country!
Thank you to everyone who is fighting for Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine!»
