Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on September 17, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion into our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and sixth day of heroic resistance of the Ukrainian nation against the Russian military invasion has begun.

The enemy continues to concentrate efforts on attempts at full occupation of the Donetsk region, organizing defense and maintaining temporarily occupied territories, as well as breaking active actions of the Defense Forces on certain fronts. They are shelling our positions along the line of contact, conducting measures for redeployment of troops on certain axes, introducing reserves, and carrying out aerial reconnaissance.

There remains a threat of air and missile strikes against the entire territory of Ukraine.

The enemy continues to inflict blows on civilian housing and objects of civil infrastructure, violating laws and customs of war and norms of international humanitarian law.

Over the past day, the adversary carried out four missile strikes, 24 air attacks, and conducted 72 shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers.

As a result of aerial and missile strikes and use of MLRS, infrastructure in over 58 populated areas was affected. This includes Kharkiv, Zolochiv, Druzhkivka, Severnyy, Zakitne, New York, Veselyanka, Mariinka, Krasnogorovka, Poltavka, Mali Shcherbaki, Miren, Velyke Artakove, Krivoy Rog, Nikopol, Olgivske, Zaporizhzhya, Orikhiv, Myrolubivka, Ochakiv and Sukhyi Stavok.

On the Volynian, Polesian, and Northern fronts, there are no significant changes in the situation.

On other axes, the enemy carried out shelling with tanks, mortars, and artillery, namely:

on the Kharkiv front, including from the territory of the Russian Federation — in the areas of populated places Kudiyivka, Hoptivka, Strilecha, Vilkhuvatka, Aniskine, Synyok, Kamianka, Pritsina and Dvorichna;

on the Siversk front — in the areas of populated places Horehivatka and Bahatin;

on the Kramatorsk front — Kriva Luka, Piskunyvka, Raygorodok, Staro Karavan, Mykolayivka, Dronivka, Rozdilne, Severnyy, Verkhnyokamyanske, Svyatogirsk, Sosnovye, Oleksandrivka and Yaremivka;

on the Bakhmut front — Bilohorivka, Rozdolvka, Viyimka, Otradivka, Solodar, Mykolayivka Second, Bakhmut, Bakhmutse, Yakovlivka, Vesela Dolina, Vesele and Mayorshchyna.

On the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia fronts, the enemy did not conduct active operations. As a result of artillery fire from the enemy, Avdiyivka, Vesele, Opitne, Netaylove, Zelenoe Pole, Poltavka and Novopol were affected.

On the Southern Bug front, occupiers carried out shelling along the line of contact. Over 26 populated areas suffered from artillery fire.

Significant losses among units of so-called «Donbas Volunteer Union» have been confirmed. Wounded representatives of the battalion of this illegal armed formation, who participated in the assault on the populated area Avdiyivka, were refused medical assistance at a hospital after evacuation to Rostov-on-Don because they do not have the status of regular military units.

In temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region, so-called head of civil-military administration recently announced strengthening «sanctions» against patriotic-minded Ukrainian citizens. Feeling resistance, occupiers and collaborators intimidate people with deprivation of freedom for providing support to representatives of the resistance movement, while activists are threatened with forcible transportation to self-proclaimed «LDR», where such activities are punishable by death.

Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of populated places Bakhmut, Zaytseve, Avdiyivka, Mykolayivka Second and Novomykhailivka.

During the last day, aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted strikes on occupiers. Nine concentration areas of enemy manpower and military equipment were confirmed to be affected, three strongholds, one rear command post, and two positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.

In addition, our air defense units destroyed one Su-24 aircraft, three cruise missiles, and one UAV of the adversary on various axes.

Over the past day, rocket forces and artillery inflicted fire damage to enemy reserves in concentration areas and at a station for unloading. Losses among occupiers are being clarified.
