A week ago in Łódź, the white-and-blue secured a minimum victory — 1:0, but their fate in the third qualifying round of the Champions League was still decided in Graz. Mircea Lucescu made two changes compared to his previous match — he brought back Cigangov after an injury, and Shaparenko started in place of Popov.
The first goal-scoring opportunity in the match came from Dynamo — on the 5th minute, Cigangov played the ball to Shaparenko, but he shot over the target. Over time, the Austrians took control and Bущan had to work hard, cleaning up defensive mistakes and reacting to long shots by Hirlinger. However, on the 27th minute, "Sturm" did score — a vertical counterattack by the hosts ended with Gollund's successful shot from an acute angle.

Kyivans soon had chances to level the score, but Boyal's shot after good passes from his teammates lacked power and accuracy. Meanwhile, the Austrians attacked dangerously — just before halftime Bущan parried Hirlinger's shot from the penalty area, while in another attack Prass sent the ball over the crossbar.
In the second half, both teams were more cautious. On the 57th minute, Cigangov took a free kick with Shaparenko and hit it well into the plane. Soon there was an upsurge of activity from the hosts — Bущan reacted to shots by Sarkariya and Horvat, after a corner Affengruber missed wide. In the added time Dynamo had a chance to end the duel in their favor, but Harmash's header off Cigangov's cross hit the crossbar.

Extra time, as in the previous match against "Fenerbahçe," was with the Ukrainians. On the 97th minute Cigangov made a beautiful pass to slice through the opponent's defense, and Vovcharenko scored with his second touch. This is Constantine's first goal for Dynamo and in European competitions overall. Later, Sturm were left down one man — Sarkariya received his second yellow card. Most of the white-and-blues scored again — after a great attack with Boyal's pass, Cigangov scored.
Now in the Champions League playoff round, Dynamo awaits a duel against Portuguese "Benfica" of Roman Yaremchuik. The first match will be held at home on August 16/17, and the second — away on August 23/24.
