The "Open Football Lessons" initiative involving representatives of regional football associations and volunteer leaders has joined another partnership project by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and the All-Ukrainian Foundation "Child Rights Protection."
The football component of the project is aimed at providing psychosocial support to children affected by the war, both internally displaced children and local children who have suffered from it, in six communities across three western regions of Ukraine — Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernivtsi.
"Open Football Lessons" will include components of psychological support and training on safe behavior during wartime and its aftermath — minimizing risks from explosive hazards, mines, emergencies, etc. Thanks to the partners, a large amount of sports equipment will appear in participating communities and will be used for further regular sessions with children within the project.
Open football lessons have started according to this schedule:
July 9 — Lviv region, Mykolaiv;
July 12 — Ivano-Frankivsk region, Galych;
