Oleh Shaitanov's wards began their training camp on June 3 and conducted over 40 trainings and several friendly matches during it. An interview with the captain of the blue-and-yellow team, Yuliia Forsyk, was published on UEFA's official website.

"Each player in our team had their own difficulties. The main problem is that we did not have a full season. What started in our country on February 24 completely ruined our plans. The championship was stopped, most of the girls left Ukraine. It's great that teams from different countries gave us the opportunity to train and play before Euro-2022, but working throughout the season is something else entirely. Although the girls are not in their optimal physical and psychological state, we will fight for a good result."

The 2019 European Championship was the most extraordinary event of my career; you could say it's its peak. It's what you aspire to. My best memories from that tournament are the semi-final against Portugal. For the first time, I played on such a big stage, on such a beautiful pitch, in front of so many people in the stands. This was a dream - to play at such an event. You feel like Ricardinho! It was very emotional to see yourself on the big screen during the performance of Ukraine's National Anthem.

Futsal is our way to demonstrate our love and pride for the Ukrainian people and show Europe its pain. We hope that our respect for Ukraine will make us stronger and help Ukrainian players and our nation in the future. The war is ongoing, and our country and team have faced many difficulties on their way to this tournament. But we are ready to play because representing Ukraine is always prestigious. I hope that we will conduct a good tournament, and even more people will pay attention to our country," said Yuliia Forsyk.

We remind you that the final tournament of the second in history European Championship for women's futsal, which Ukraine's national team is participating in, will take place from July 1 to 3 this year in Gondomar, Portugal.
