Based on the results of the first stage of preparation for Ukraine's national team for the 2022 World Cup playoffs in June, head coach Oleksandr Petrakov decided that five players — Vitaliy Buyalskyi, Artem Besedin, Denis Harmash, Serhiy Buletsa, and Yurii Konoplia — will remain with the squad.

At the same time, an examination of Denis Popov showed that he has Achilles tendon damage requiring about two weeks of treatment. Considering the large number of matches that the national team must play in June, Denis remains in the squad where he will undergo rehabilitation.
