Grand Champions of the Ukrainian Vbet League, Donetsk's "Shakhtar" and Kyiv's "Dynamo," continue their charitable tours during which they play friendly matches with European clubs. The main goal of these events is to raise funds for humanitarian aid to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people suffering as a result of Russian aggression.
After two matches in Turkey, Donetsk's "Shakhtar" today played another charitable match during their Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace in Ukraine, this time — in Croatia, at the Poljud Stadium. The opponent of Roberto De Zerbi's team was Split's "Hajduk."
Before the game, the miners took to the field wearing shirts with the message Azovstal! Save Mariupol! This appeal was directed at the entire world to draw attention to the horrific situation that the aggressor's troops have created in Mariupol.
The match itself ended in a 3-3 draw. Among the orange-and-black team, goals were scored by Dmitro Topalov, Petro Stasjuk and Andriy Boryachuk. Players who were called up for the upcoming national team training camp participated: Andriy Pyatov, Anatoliy Trubin, Mykola Matviyenko, Valeri Bondar, Viktor Kornienko, Yurym Konoplia, Taras Stepanenko and Mykhaylo Mudryk, who unfortunately suffered an injury in the 7th minute of the match.
After this game, Shakhtar's national team players will join their respective national teams.
