UEFA Playmakers in Ternopil

Based on Ternopil School No. 11, a regular cycle of the UEFA Playmakers project was implemented, which is introduced by the Ukrainian Football Association jointly with the Ternopil Oblast Football Association.

The project UEFA Playmakerz was realized at the Ternopil School No. 11, which is implemented by Ukrainian Football Association in collaboration with Football Association of Ternopil Oblast. The initiative was also supported by the Football Academy "Ternopil".

Coached by coaches Sergiy Harchuk and Iryna Loginenko, the sessions focused on developing and improving the skills of young female footballers. Over the year, the participants gained new knowledge and practical skills working in a positive and motivating atmosphere with volunteers from the Football Academy "Ternopil".

The training sessions were conducted using the game-based methodology of the program, based on stories from Disney films "Superfamily 2" and "Encanto", which increased the girls' interest and facilitated better material absorption.

According to Sergiy Harchuk, the implementation of the program was an important step in the development of girl's football in Ternopil and confirmed the effectiveness of the UEFA Playmakerz format at a regional level.

The goals of the UEFA Playmakerz program, which is implemented by the Ukrainian Football Association:

  • to familiarize girls with football, creating an environment focused on fun, friends, and football;
  • to introduce a new individual coaching approach that uses imagination (inspired by Disney stories and characters) as a tool for training and acquiring game skills in football;
  • to improve life skills of girls, basic movement skills, and teach the fundamentals of football to foster lifelong interest in the sport.
