Conference League. Donetsk Shakhtar played destruction against Croatian Rijeka in the final match of the group stage
Today, on December 18, in their last group stage match of the Conference League, Donetsk Shakhtar played against Croatian Rijeka in Krakow. Under Arda Turan's coaching, Shakhtar had accumulated 12 points before the final encounter and were aiming for a top-8 finish, which would have guaranteed them a place in the play-offs for the 1/8 finals. The first half of the match saw a evenly matched contest with almost no clear-cut chances.

Today, December 18 in their last group stage match of the Conference League Donetsk «Shakhtar» met Croatian «Rijeka» in Krakow.
Before the final meeting, Arda Turan's wards had 12 points in their favor and were striving for a top-8 place, which would guarantee them participation in the play-offs from the 1/8 final stage.
In the first half of the match, there was almost no sharp moments. The best chance belonged to Oleh Ochereyka who shot at the right near post but the guest goalkeeper redirected this shot to the corner.
At the beginning of the second half, teams exchanged sharp counterattacks but again without success. Finally, a draw 0:0. «Shakhtar» gained 13 points and finished the group stage in sixth place in the Conference League table. This gives the miners the opportunity to continue their fight from the 1/8 final stage. The draw for this stage will take place on February 27, 2026, with matches on March 12 and March 19.
