Today, on December 18, in their last group stage match of the Conference League, Donetsk Shakhtar played against Croatian Rijeka in Krakow. Under Arda Turan's coaching, Shakhtar had accumulated 12 points before the final encounter and were aiming for a top-8 finish, which would have guaranteed them a place in the play-offs for the 1/8 finals. At the beginning of the second half, teams exchanged sharp counterattacks but again without success. Finally, a draw 0:0. «Shakhtar» gained 13 points and finished the group stage in sixth place in the Conference League table. This gives the miners the opportunity to continue their fight from the 1/8 final stage. The draw for this stage will take place on February 27, 2026, with matches on March 12 and March 19.
