In the first half of this match, Malinovs'ky scored a brace and became the winner of the prestigious "Man of the Match" award (76% of fan votes).

After the game ended, the midfielder shared his impressions with the press service of the UAF.

"I don't remember, but this is probably my first 'Man of the Match'. I'm glad first and foremost for the result, for the victory. It would have been unpleasant to end this match in defeat. We were winning, we gave a lot of effort, all the guys fought for the result. So it's very nice that we won.

'Man of the Match' is an individual award, but we play as a team. I think Vitaliy Mykolenko played great too, and Vanat, Shaparenko, and Voloshin came on as substitutes excellently. The defenders did a lot of dirty work. This applies to every player in the defensive line.

Did I think about such a return to the national team? A year went by very quickly, and it feels like nothing happened. I don't want to look back. I just want to play more because I lost a lot of time. I want to give people joy, show great football. This is most important for me. Of my two goals against Iceland, I think the second one was better. A great goal...

Icelandic fans only played drums, while ours chanted and supported us. It was very nice. Thank you that they came to support us in such cold weather. I hope they didn't freeze, but we gave them good emotions," — said Ruslan Malinovs'ky.
