In the second match at the 2025 World Championship in Chile, Ukraine's U-20 national team drew with Panama (1:1).

After the game, players of the blue-and-yellow team Danilo Krevcun and Oleksandr Pyshchur shared their emotions with the press service of the UAF.

Danilo Krevcun (defender): "I believe that we should have won this match. However, the game did not go as planned. There were many unnecessary ball losses and a lot of chaos. We needed to act more calmly in certain moments and capitalize on our chances. Of course, we are all disappointed, but there is still another match ahead. Starting tomorrow, we will focus on it and prepare accordingly. Nothing terrible has happened.

The game against South Korea was harder because their team dominated in the second half. In the match with Panama, we had more possession of the ball and fought one-on-one across the field. We needed to play through the wings more often, but it did not always work out. As for the next match, there is no point in counting points now—we just need to come out and win."

Oleksandr Pyshchur (forward): "It was a very tough game—not only for me personally but also for all the boys. A difficult opponent. We had more possession of the ball, but in the final phase of attack, we lacked some skill. We should have gotten more out of this match than 1:1, but nothing terrible happened. There is no time to think about it—we need to move forward. We need to focus on the next game and hope that everything goes as we want.

When I won a penalty kick, my first thought was that I would take it myself. Then we started discussing it, and in the end, I did take it. I didn't score, but the referee noted that the goalkeeper moved early. We had to retake it, but Gennadiy Synchuk approached me and said he wanted a try. I told him to go ahead because my main goal was to win the match, whoever scored."

Synchuk will miss the next game due to yellow card accumulation. He is a dynamic player whom we will really miss. But that's how it goes—we have many good penalty takers."
