European recognition of Ukrainian licensing

September 25 saw the scheduled audit of the Ukrainian Football Association according to UEFA's Club Licensing Quality Standard (CLQS) with the aim of verifying compliance with the requirements set out in the CLQS.

Every year, an independent certification body approved by UEFA evaluates the UFA regarding adherence to all CLQS requirements. If these requirements are met, the certification body issues a certificate valid for one season.

It is pleasant to note that this year saw the introduction of signing confidentiality agreements between UEFA, SGS Geneva, and each licensee for the first time. This move aims to promote transparency and increase confidence among each member association of UEFA in information exchange with auditors.

Another innovation of the 2025 audit were questions regarding national women's club competitions concerning media rights, commercialization of broadcasting rights, as well as the financial environment of women's competitions, and so on.

Based on the results of the one-day audit, positive conclusions were reached with short-term outcomes and a preliminary recommendation from the independent auditor SGS, who noted the stability of the Ukrainian Football Association’s club licensing system in achieving its goals despite the challenges faced by football in Ukraine today.
